The Paradox of Simplicity

Psalm 19:7

King James Version

7 The law of the Lord is perfect,

converting the soul:

the testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple.

That's my favorite image of a coffee cup.

That's my approach in life -- simplicity.

And that's also how I approach studying the Bible.

In all simplicity.

My objective is to understand the Word of God, just as God said it, so I can share it with you, as is.

I cannot pretend to be a theologian, for I'm not.

Neither am I an intellectual.

I like things simple.

Real.

With heart.

With GOD in it.

Like an excited child, I await SPIRIT's instructions each moment.

For He reveals so many treasures each day.

I do not get ahead of God.

I wait.

I approach God like as an eager child would.

Hopping and skipping alongside Jesus, who looks amusedly at me, knowing every now and then, I will pepper Him with questions.

The rest of the time, I'm content merely holding His hand, my tiny hand in His.

And all of the time, I listen to what He wants to say, or what He wants done.

I don't act, until I've received WORD.

My ear permanently glued to His heart.

And His heart permanently in mine.

That's how I write all my blogs.

Always guided by the LORD's SPIRIT.

I pray, I wait, I listen.

Why do people think the Word of God is difficult?

Jesus is simple.

2 Corinthians 11:3

King James Version

3 But I fear,

lest by any means,

as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,

so your minds should be corrupted

from the simplicity that is in Christ.

He made Himself simple for us.

He spoke through parables so we may understand.

Jesus is the Master Communicator and Lord of All.

He knows how to reach us.

But do we allow Him to?

It's time we did.

Truth of Jesus

Isaiah 53:4

King James Version

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs,

and carried our sorrows:

yet we did esteem him stricken,

smitten of God,

and afflicted.

Who is JESUS?

What is His purpose?

Why must we believe in Him?

Why must we follow Him?

Scripture has the answers.

Jesus,

the image of God.

Colossians 1:15

King James Version

15 Who is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn of every creature:

Jesus,

for whom all things were created.

16 For by him were all things created,

that are in heaven,

and that are in earth,

visible and invisible,

whether they be thrones,

or dominions,

or principalities,

or powers:

all things were created by him,

and for him:

Jesus,

who existed before everything.

Colossians 1:17

King James Version

and by him all things consist.

the way.

John 14:6

King James Version

6 Jesus saith unto him,

I am the way,

the truth,

and the life:

no man cometh unto the Father,

but by me.

Jesus,

the head of the church.

Colossians 1:18

King James Version

18 And he is the head of the body,

the church:

who is the beginning,

the firstborn from the dead;

that in all things

he might have the preeminence.

Jesus,

in whom the Father is pleased.

Matthew 3:17

17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying,

This is my beloved Son,

in whom I am well pleased.

the savior.

1 John 3:8

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil;

for the devil sinneth from the beginning.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,

that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Jesus,

the redeemer.

King James Version

14 In whom we have redemption

through his blood,

even the forgiveness of sins:

Jesus,

the humble servant.

the Word of God.

one with God.

the esteemed name.

rest for the weary.

of our Lord Jesus Christ,

from the dead,

Jesus,

provides everything.

Luke 22:35

King James Version

35 And he said unto them,

When I sent you without purse,

and scrip,

and shoes,

lacked ye any thing?

Nothing.

in all His simplicity.
